Known alarm bugs right now

Since iOS 26 came out in September 2025, many iPhone owners have reported alarms that appear on screen with no sound. Some say the lowest volume step went silent, or that the alarm played only in their earbuds.

iOS 26, from the first release. Reports were still coming in September 2026.

Apple hasn't said anything about it, and none of its iOS 26 updates, up to iOS 26.7.2, lists an alarm fix.

What to do

Owners say these helped: turn the volume up a step, use a built-in tone instead of a song, delete the alarm and set it again, and turn off Attention Aware Features. Then test a 2-minute alarm before bed.

iOS 26.0 made the Stop and Snooze buttons the same size, and some people stopped their alarm without meaning to.

Fixed yet?

Fixed in iOS 26.1, which swapped the Stop button for Slide to stop. A tap still snoozes.

What to do

Update to iOS 26.1 or later. To get a Stop button back, turn on Prefer Single-Touch Actions in Settings, Accessibility, Touch.

If you wear an Apple Watch to bed, your sleep schedule's alarm plays on the watch, not the phone. In Silent mode the watch only taps your wrist.

This is how Apple made it. iOS 26.4 added Always Play on iPhone, which stays off until you turn it on.

What to do

On iOS 26.4 or later, edit your sleep alarm in Clock or Health and turn on Always Play on iPhone.

If a call is on when the alarm goes off, Samsung's Clock shows a pop-up and beeps until you tap Dismiss, even on Vibrate or Silent. A beep may not wake you.

One UI 6.1.1 and later. Samsung says so for the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6.

In late October 2026, Pixel owners reported alarms that made no sound, after which Clock said the alarm had gone off and was automatically silenced. It doesn't happen every time.

Pixel phones, reported in October 2026. No model, Android or Clock version is named.

Google hasn't given a cause or a fix. Its Pixel support team said it had contacted some owners to look into it.

What to do

Set Silence after to Never in Clock's settings, keep a backup alarm, and test a 2-minute alarm before bed.

Some Pixel alarms never go off, and Clock later says the alarm didn't fire for an unknown reason. Reports go back to at least 2021.

Asking Google Assistant to turn on Do Not Disturb turned on a version that ignored your exceptions and muted everything, alarms included. Android Authority found the same on its own phones.

Google didn't comment, and no fix has been reported since.

Turn on Do Not Disturb from Quick Settings or Settings, not by voice.
